CVIFF SPECIAL EVENT – Blak Douglas Vs The Commonwealth

Rating:

CTC

Duration:

1h 30m

Director:

Angelica Christina Dio

Starring:

Blak Douglas

Presented by Theatre Royal & Castlemaine Documentary Festival for the Central Victorian Indigenous Film Festival.

Renowned Dhungatti artist, Blak Douglas, prepares for his exhibition, a portrait of his Indigenous grandmother, at the National Gallery of Australia’s Indigenous Art Triennial: Defying Empire.

Using his own story and searing artwork to reckon with Australia’s colonial past, Blak Douglas is a powerful, unapologetic exploration of truth and transformation.

Session times:

Thu 29 May - 7:30pm

Dine in or takeaway pizza Tuesday – Sunday

Semi-sourdough pizza made with organic ingredients and a very little amount of yeast. The magic is in the fermentation process, which takes up to 72 hours. Each pizza is then balled up and hand-stretched to order. We cook our pizza in a 500c oven with a stone floor. The effect is a thin, crisp base with a puffy, leopard-spotted crust. No bookings required.
