The Green Room has its own entrance, around the corner from The Theatre Royal facade, located down a small lane off Mostyn Street, in the heart of the Castlemaine township; amongst cafes, bars, retail shops and a short walk from the bush!

The dwelling functions as backstage to performers, and when not teeming with musicians, The Green Room is reserved as exclusive and wonderfully unconventional accommodation.

Long and narrow and reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century parlour, the Theatre’s original external stone wall lines the length of the space, laden with a rich history.

Lola Montez, a well-known 19th century celebrity, once performed at the venue – outraging and captivating a packed audience of gold-diggers with her infamous Spider Dance.

The luxurious bathroom: ‘Lola’s Loo’, has a claw foot bath with salts provided to soak – ideally with a glass of wine.
