Rating:

PG

Duration:

2h 00m

Director:

Steven Spielberg

Starring:

Henry Thomas, Drew Barrymore

Steven Spielberg’s latest sci-fi blockbuster, Disclosure Day, premieres this July. It will need very big feet indeed to fill the shoes of one of his earlier extra-terrestrial classics and most beloved films, about a young boy who befriends a small alien stranded in American suburbia. Join Elliot (Henry Thomas), Gertie (Drew Barrymore) and Michael (Robert MacNaughton) as they come together to help E.T. find his way back home. Winning four Academy Awards, including one for the iconic score by John Williams, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is “one of the great American films” (Leonard Maltin) that forever belongs in the hearts and minds of audiences everywhere.

An homage to the adventure and sci-fi comics he grew up, E.T. is one of Steven Spielberg’s most well-rounded films, with just the right amount of drama, sweetness, suspense, action, and sadness. Upon its release, E.T. beat out Star Wars to become the highest-grossing film of all time (a title it held until Jurassic Park‘s dinosaurs crushed it). It quickly became a cultural touchstone (ever seen a show, cartoon, or comic strip where someone rides a bike and flies through the air?) Also, it features a supremely cute Drew Barrymore.
